Payton Hasik, Assistant Property Manager with The RMR Group in Dallas, Texas, has been selected by CRE Insight Journal as one of the 10 to Watch in commercial real estate. The CRE Insight Journal 10 to Watch program recognizes the commercial real estate industry’s top early career professionals and showcases how emerging professionals are shaping the real estate industry through a variety of career pathways.

At The RMR Group, Payton is known for her cross-functional collaboration, seamlessly working with multiple departments to increase operational efficiency and streamline processes. Her approach has enhanced workflows, reduced redundancies, and elevated the quality of project results, which in turn has strengthened teamwork and brought greater cohesion across teams. Payton joined her team at The RMR Group in 2023 after working in the commercial real estate industry for three years prior at Hartman Income REIT and Avison Young.

“Collaboration helps identify and eliminate streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency by leveraging the strengths of each department,” she said. “Having this as a standard brings higher quality outcomes which not only drives work success but also fosters a more cohesive, innovative, and agile organization.”

Outside of work, Payton is a dedicated volunteer with Minnie’s Food Pantry, a nonprofit committed to breaking the cycle of food insecurity in low-income communities. The pantry provides numerous programs that help families gain long-term food security and to break the generational curse of people, especially children, in low-income areas not having access to fresh fruits and vegetables.

“By volunteering, I have created a sense of purpose and fulfillment, that I didn’t know was missing from my life,” she said. “I have helped provide essential services to those in need, strengthening the community’s support network. Engaging in volunteer activities allows me to meet new people, build friendships and expand my network fostering a sense of belonging and community.”

By helping provide essential services to families and children in need, Payton has contributed to a stronger community support network and discovered a new sense of purpose. She says that her experiences at Minnie’s have opened her eyes to the importance of accessible nutrition and the broader impact it has on families.

Payton sees commercial real estate as more important now than ever before. She recognizes that modern commercial buildings often incorporate designs that improve employee’s well-being, such as natural lighting, green spaces and ergonomic workspaces. “These developments bring services closer to people, including retail, healthcare and entertainment, enhancing convenience and quality of life,” she adds.

She also appreciates how the industry increasingly embraces sustainable design, such as energy-efficient designs, renewable energy sources, and sustainable materials, which reduces environmental impact while improving the health of indoor environments. “By integrating these practices, the commercial real estate industry not only supports economic growth but also promotes social and environmental well-being,” she adds.
