Sarah Doughty, Associate Property Manager with CBRE in Denver, Colorado, has been selected by CRE Insight Journal as one of the 10 to Watch in commercial real estate. The CRE Insight Journal 10 to Watch program recognizes top early-career professionals who are shaping the future of the industry through innovation, engagement, and leadership in property operations.
At CBRE, Sarah is onsite helping manage 1 million square feet of two high-rise office buildings in the heart of her city. She recently played a direct role in onboarding a 63,474-square-foot new-build property, coordinating multiple vendor contracts, preventative maintenance schedules, tenant handbooks, emergency procedures, and security access systems. Sarah has also begun her BOMI Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation, further enhancing her industry knowledge and expertise.
“My goal is to streamline operations and provide exceptional service while helping our team and clients succeed,” Sarah said.
Sarah’s dedication and performance have earned her recognition as CBRE’s Rising Professional of the Year 2024 and Denver Metro Building Owner and Manager’s Association (BOMA)’s Outstanding Assistant Property Manager of the Year. She has implemented cost-saving measures by auditing vendor contracts, performing work in-house when feasible, and ensuring budget compliance. Her hands-on, personable approach strengthens relationships between tenants, contractors, and clients while delivering high-quality property management services.
Outside of work, Sarah is deeply involved in volunteerism and community engagement. She contributes to Denver Metro BOMA scholarship fundraisers, participates in seasonal coat drives, and volunteers at Brent’s Place, supporting families of patients with life-threatening illnesses. Sarah also dedicates her time to the Food Bank of the Rockies and participates in Denver National Night Out, educating the public on the role of commercial real estate in creating safe and welcoming communities.
“Volunteering reminds me that positive impact is achieved through consistent action and presence,” she said.
Sarah believes the commercial real estate industry can profoundly influence people, communities, and the environment. Through building maintenance, adaptive reuse projects, energy-efficiency programs, and tenant-focused operations, she works to create spaces that are safe, sustainable, and engaging.
“Real estate isn’t just about managing properties—it’s about enhancing the daily lives of people and supporting the growth and sustainability of communities,” Sarah said.
