Sam Swanger, Senior Account Executive with JLL Technologies in Chicago, Illinois, has been selected by CRE Insight Journal as one of the 10 to Watch in commercial real estate. The CRE Insight Journal 10 to Watch program recognizes top early-career professionals who are shaping the future of the industry through innovation, engagement, and leadership in technology adoption within property operations. 

At JLL Technologies, Sam specializes in PropTech solutions for convenience store, retail, and multi-site commercial real estate markets. In his current role, he leads vertical market expansion, manages full sales cycles from prospecting to contract execution, and partners with C-level executives to implement technology solutions that optimize building performance and operational efficiency.  

“My focus is on helping clients transform their operations through technology, ensuring real estate data becomes a strategic asset rather than a costly liability,” Sam said. 

Sam has consistently delivered outstanding results, exceeding annual quotas by 20% and achieving 120% of the plan in just eight months. He has ranked number one in pipeline generation for 12 consecutive months and has been recognized as a top performer in both individual and team contributions. Beyond revenue generation, he mentors newer team members and shares best practices that enhance overall team performance, demonstrating a commitment to elevating others as well as himself. 

Outside of work, Sam is deeply committed to volunteerism and community service. He supports underserved populations, particularly individuals with autism and special needs, through Dream Runners, providing inclusive fitness opportunities that foster confidence and friendships. He also volunteers regularly at local food kitchens and has contributed to Habitat for Humanity projects, gaining insight into long-term community impact.  

“These experiences have reinforced the importance of consistent action and service, lessons that carry over into my professional life,” Sam said.

Through strategic real estate decisions, energy-efficient operations, and data-driven technology adoption, he helps clients enhance productivity, sustainability, and tenant satisfaction.
