Craig Haglund, ENERGY STAR Program Manager for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, received the 2023 Thought Leadership Award from CRE Insight Journal. Partnering with thousands of organizations, ENERGY STAR delivers cost-saving energy efficient solutions that improve air quality and protect both the climate and public health.  

Craig collaborated with CRE Insight Journal to produce a Engaging Your Tenants in Sustainability Webinar, which highlighted the new ENERGY STAR Tenant Space™ recognition and provided resources for engaging owners and tenants around common energy efficiency goals and best practices in leased office spaces. 

He has also contributed significantly to CRE Insight Journal content since 2019, in areas related to sustainability manager roles; ENERGY STAR Tenant Space; and the value of ENERGY STAR certification.

Craig earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2006 and a Master of Business Administration degree from the same institution in 2017. As national program manager for commercial real estate and multifamily sectors for ENERGY STAR, Craig works with commercial real estate organizations, helping them effectively manage and reduce energy usage in their properties.
