Claudia Caskey, Property Manager with The RMR Group in Kansas City, Missouri, has been selected by CRE Insight Journal as one of the 10 to Watch in commercial real estate. The CRE Insight Journal 10 to Watch program recognizes the industry’s top early-career professionals and highlights how emerging leaders are shaping commercial real estate through operational leadership, innovation, and community impact.

At The RMR Group, Claudia oversees more than 4.6 million square feet of industrial real estate across the Midwest. She manages five-year capital and operating budgets for 26 properties, drives operational efficiency, and leads asset performance initiatives. Claudia has spearheaded sustainability and building performance improvements, securing BOMA 360 certifications for five properties, strengthening tenant engagement, and elevating building standards in the region. She also recently led a full-scale crisis response and remediation effort after a major fire impacting more than 650,000 square feet, coordinating contractors, managing insurance reporting, and maintaining daily communication with the tenant over a four-month recovery effort.

“One of my proudest achievements has been leading sustainability initiatives, including securing BOMA 360 certifications for five buildings,” Claudia said. “Our tenants have been very appreciative of our efforts and appreciate the industry recognition.”

She added that managing a major fire loss taught her the importance of crisis leadership, clear communication, and strong partnerships.

“This experience highlighted my strengths in crisis management, clear communication, and leadership under pressure.”

Prior to her role at The RMR Group, Claudia managed over 800,000 square feet of neighborhood lifestyle retail centers for First Washington Realty. There, she supported retail expansion, guided tenants through pandemic-era business challenges, and launched a composting program that diverted more than 36,000 pounds of waste from landfills in a single year. Earlier in her career, she progressed from Property Administrator to Property Manager at Cushman & Wakefield, gaining experience across office, medical, and industrial assets and earning recognition as Assistant Property Manager of the Year from Cushman & Wakefield.

Claudia has also made meaningful contributions through service and volunteer leadership. She has spent years supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, including serving on the Red Shoe Society leadership team.

“Volunteering has been a grounding and fulfilling part of my life, and I’m proud to have played a small role in helping families navigate incredibly difficult times,” Claudia said.

She remains connected to the organization today and continues to advocate for its mission.

Beyond charitable service, Claudia demonstrates real estate industry leadership through active involvement with the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). She serves on the BOMA Kansas City Board of Directors and is a member of BOMA International’s BOMA 360 Council, helping to advance operational excellence in the built environment.

Looking ahead, Claudia believes real estate plays a pivotal role in shaping strong communities and sustainable environments.

“Real estate impacts people by creating spaces where they live, work, and gather,” Claudia said. “When properties are managed with care, they become more than buildings; they become community anchors.”

She added that balancing profitability and purpose is essential: “The future of real estate lies in its ability to create spaces that serve people, uplift communities, and protect the environment.”
